At the Digital Futures Cornwall partnership led by Truro and Penwith College, we value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. As part of our data management practices, we utilise analytics software to collect and analyse data. This enables us to improve our services and enhance your experience.

 

The data we hold may have been collected when:

  • You made an inquiry about training, or an event run by one of the Digital Futures Cornwall partners,
  • You subscribed to our newsletters,
  • You attended training or an event run by the partnership, registered to attend via Eventbrite or other event management platform, or completed feedback or interacted with us at an external networking event.

 

Additionally, data is shared when you inquire, apply, or enrol for one of our courses. To learn more about how we handle your data in these cases, the Digital Futures Cornwall management team follow the  comprehensive Data Protection Policy and Privacy Policy implemented by lead partner Truro and Penwith College.

 

Rest assured, the data we collect will only be used for legitimate reasons, such as:

  • Communicating important college or partnership information,
  • Delivering essential information related to your training or event,
  • Sharing health and safety updates,
  • Providing newsletters (if subscribed) and updates regarding other follow-up activity which has a strong relevance to training already completed (legitimate interest),
  • Sharing information with Digital Futures Cornwall project partners* to signpost you to the training and event opportunities which best suit your needs across the partnership,
  • Sharing some information with any organisations engaged to carry out an evaluation of the project,
  • Digital Futures Cornwall is part-funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. Cornwall Council has been chosen by Government as a Lead Authority for the fund and is responsible for monitoring the progress of projects funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. As such, we are required to share some information in claims and quarterly reports to the Good Growth team at Cornwall Council for monitoring purposes. This may, in addition, be extended to any organisations involved in auditing the funding spend on behalf of the managing authority. Information stored for these purposes may include details of gender, ethnicity, disabilities, and other characteristics, with the intention of monitoring equity, diversity and inclusion.

 

We will never request irrelevant data from you, ensuring that the information we seek is necessary and appropriate. Furthermore, we offer clear and straightforward instructions for signing up or removing your details from our promotional newsletters.

 

As your privacy is of utmost importance, we take all necessary measures to keep your data safe and secure. We will only share your information with third parties outside the Digital Futures Cornwall partnership when there is a legal statutory requirement to do so as outlined above.

 

Finally, we are committed to respecting your preferences and will never inundate you with unwanted content. Our aim is to maintain a respectful and relevant communication approach.

Our Data Team

We hold your data safely and securely. All Truro and Penwith College employees are DBS checked and have received additional safeguarding training.

 

Truro and Penwith College have designated Data Protection Officers (DPO) and Data Processors with specific areas of responsibility. We distribute newsletters (usually just once per month) via Mailchimp. Data in the mailing list on Mailchimp is stored in accordance with their policies. You can update your preferences or unsubscribe at any time using these links.

 

Data which is needed in relation to monitoring or auditing the project may be kept for 7 years (or longer if required by the Managing Authority) following the completion of the Digital Futures Cornwall project.  Any other data retention is covered in the Truro and Penwith College Data Archive Storage & Disposal Policy.
